so monsters are pretty good for resources, ive killed quite a few so far and it is better than resource squares because you get the resources faster

That's the general idea that if you take the risk, then there should be some benefit. Units will take hp damage though so there can be negative to attacking monsters.
Next patch will enable a command to heal in city every day or so, depending on unit skills like heal/bandage. This will help recover your units hp in general.

should add like a medic center that has passive healing in city

In the process of adding item and equipment drops to monsters. Should make monsters more interesting.
